About the event
The practice of lucid dreaming reflects back to the dreamer a mirror of the self. By relating with our dreams more lucidly, we can better understand the archetypes and symbolism that move us more toward the truth behind the old adage, "Know thyself."
At our next meetup, we will explore the characters, images, and settings from our dreams that represent something within ourselves. We will also discuss how to use lucidity to foster a greater sense of clarity, healing, and integration of the disparate or rejected pieces of the the self.
Lucid dreaming is so versatile with a vast array of applications and tools that can aid in its exploration. In the spirit of lucidity, we decided to get creative with the "oars" we will use to navigate the deeper layers of our dreams...
We will be meeting at Rooted Kava Lounge in Hillcrest on Sunday April 29th. Those who opt to say "Bula!" can enjoy the mild but relaxing effects of the kava root and find themselves closer to a waking dream-like state of consciousness.
We will also play with another fun ritual to connect us more with the unconscious archetypes of our dreams: the tarot. Just like our dreams, tarot cards naturally speak the language of archetypes. Whether you believe in the lore of the tarot or not (and it's OK if you do not), anyone who chooses can get a reading to see if it helps bring them any closer to discovering their personal inner mythos.
Kava and tarot are entirely optional! And we welcome all group members even if they do not wish to partake in these activities. If you are on the fence about attending, or maybe feeling a bit squeamish about anything related to tarot cards, remember that it's just for fun. We won't be using the cards for anything like predicting the future or supernatural (though I doubt any of us believe in that sort of stuff anyways). We will just be playing with the cards to jog the subconscious through symbolism, and to see if anything meaningful comes up for you.
Come for all or some of the time we have scheduled at Rooted Kava Bar, even stay a little longer if you'd like! If you have a tarot deck of your own (or anything else you'd like to share), feel free to bring it along.
Until then, wishing you many dreams (and lucid dreams) chock-full of the wonder and essence symbolic of YOU!
